If you are a fan of beach sport, you should definitely go to „Beach Mitte“ while visiting the German capitol! In the city center at the former Berlin Wall 47 sandy beach courts invite you to play beach volleyball, -soccer, -handball, -tennis or –basketball. It`s pretty easy: Make a court- reservation (please call ahead of time!), rent a beach ball and rock `n roll! You may certainly stop by spontaneous as well - to join some other players, have a drink at the beach bar and watch the sunset!

You cannot abstain from swimming and taking a sauna during your holiday in Berlin? No problem, the “Berliner Bäder- Betriebe“ are the largest pool operating company in Europe with more than 60 indoor-, outdoor- and so called summer- pools. During wintertime you may chose from 37 indoor- pools with a span from 25 to 50 meters with slides and diving platforms as well as different saunas. On September 26, 2010, the sports metropolis of Berlin will be celebrating a fabulous anniversary. When over 40,000 athletes set off on the fastest marathon course in the world, cheered on by a million spectators and more than 70 live bands, the 37th real,- BERLIN MARATHON will once again captivate the German capital.
Participating in the 37th real,- BERLIN MARATHON means a lot more than just running the same 42 kilometers together with the fastest athletes in the world. Experiencing the fantastic atmosphere along the course and running through the Brandenburg Gate and past the grandstands the last 400 meters to the finish line make this euphoric marathon race an unforgettable experience for everyone. If you like to go running while visiting Berlin, we like to encourage you to do so with the RBB (Rundfunk Berlin- Brandenburg). It is the largest non- professional running group of the city that meets every Saturday at 2 pm the Siegessäule. Without any costs you get the chance to meet other cross country fans, maybe even real Berliners and you also get to explore the Tiergarten, Berlins „green lung”.
