Directly linking the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds with Europe's largest congress centre, the International Congress Center (ICC) Berlin, makes it easy to combine a trade fair and congress. Boasting 80 rooms seating between 20 and 9,100 people, the ICC is Europe's largest congress centre. In 2007 the ICC Berlin received the World Travel Award, declaring it the "Leading Conference & Convention Centre" for the fourth time. Designed by architects Ralf Schüler und Ursulina Schüler-Witte, at 320 metres in length, 80 metres wide and 40 metres high, this multi-purpose congress centre took only four years to complete, and ranks among the most significant buildings of the German post-war era.  (source: ICC- Berlin)

At the moment, the former airport Berlin Tempelhof provides a place for exhibition grounds. Changing fairs, congresses and events take place, such as the annual “bread and butter, a famous fashion trade show. “… With the closing of the Tempelhof airport, Berlin gets a chance for urban development in a district that is unique through its history, size and location… With a size of 386 hectare the area has enormous intra-urban potential. The development and realization of future utilization is one of the most complex challenges for the Berlin Senate for Building- Land Matters since the German reunification..." The circular building of the Velodrom has a diameter of 142 meters and was opened in 1997. From the outside the extension is not visible on first sight, because the building is lowered in the ground. Arriving visitors may only see the roof, which pokes out of the ground a couple of meters. The program covers concerts for up to 12,000 people from musicians such as Robbie Williams, Anastacia or The Cure. The Velodrom also presents the yearly six day race, where bicyclists compete on the 250 meter racetrack originally made of Siberian spruce. Most recently, the Velodrom also hosts trade fairs on 3,200 square meters.
