„Avril“ is a vegetarian restaurant: all meals from breakfast to dinner are made of vegetables & co. Besides that, you may also enjoy fish dishes like “Pike-perch on rocket” or „Linguini with calamari and scampi”. We also recommend the home-made pastries as well as the huge brunch buffet every Sunday, of course without any meat, promised! If the Berlin weather is nice, you may sit on one of the 50 seats outside. During Happy Hour (every day from 10 pm until closing time) all cocktails cost 5€.

If you are a fan of beach sport, you should definitely go to „Beach Mitte“ while visiting the German capitol! In the city center at the former Berlin Wall 47 sandy beach courts invite you to play beach volleyball, -soccer, -handball, -tennis or –basketball. It`s pretty easy: Make a court- reservation (please call ahead of time!), rent a beach ball and rock `n roll! You may certainly stop by spontaneous as well - to join some other players, have a drink at the beach bar and watch the sunset!

You cannot abstain from swimming and taking a sauna during your holiday in Berlin? No problem, the “Berliner Bäder- Betriebe“ are the largest pool operating company in Europe with more than 60 indoor-, outdoor- and so called summer- pools. During wintertime you may chose from 37 indoor- pools with a span from 25 to 50 meters with slides and diving platforms as well as different saunas. Through the glass roof, you can watch the Berlin sky while backstroking!

BKA means „Berliner Cabaret- Anstalt“ and it is to be found in an alternative area of Berlin named Kreuzberg. Here on the fifth floor guests may watch cabaret theatre, comedy and concerts. Some famous German artists such as Georgette Dee, Michael Mittermaier or Rosenstolz once started their career underneath a sparkling sky of small light bulbs.

After World War II, from 1945 to 1994, the West Allies recruited 250.000 civilians from the Berlin population. These civilian workforces were employed in all kind of positions. From administration, maintenance, supply units, logistics, housing, security etc. The exhibits of the McNair-Museum are dedicated to the men and women who worked for almost 5o years to preserve a free West Berlin.  Additionally, the McNair-Museum is a meeting point for former soldiers and civilians who are interested in this vibrant part of Berlin history. Of course, compared to famous museums such as Checkpoint Charlie, the exhibition (located at original ground of the McNair Barracks!) is small but vividly and affectionately made!
